Experience and Insight
TonkyTots is enhanced by the varied experience I have gained in both special and mainstream settings. Having worked in many education, care and voluntary areas I have opted for a home-based career due to my love for the early-years and the opportunities available to provide holistic individualised learning.
My specialist knowledge in inclusion will not only specifically benefit children with Special Educational Needs, but is also a substantial attribute that will benefit all individual children as my planning (which conforms to the new statutory Early Years Foundation Stage) is completely child-centred, targeting and adapting to each child’s current abilities, needs and interests. Additionally, the environment created will provide solid foundations for each child’s socio-emotional development and life skills.
I am OFSTED Registered meaning I have been cleared by the Criminal Records Bureau, have met health and safety requirements, have specific paediatric first aid and home-based childcare qualifications, and will be inspected regularly. My first inspection, carried out in November 2009, graded TonkyTots as having outstanding features which are primarily my relationship and communication with parents, effective management and ambition and the extent to which children develop skills for the future (the full report can be read at www.ofsted.gov.uk). I am fully insured through the National Childminding Association (N.C.M.A.) of which I am also a member.
