The kids were feeling enthusiastic about art on Thursday after the train left us just a short walk from Walsall art gallery. We first met the big robot in the reception adorned in decorative lights – we talked about what we could see before getting the lift to the top floor. Met with a big bonfire of words which we walked round and round (at times pretending to be robots), we identified flames and pointed in amazement at the views of Walsall.
We took the lift to every floor to see what we could see examining paintings and even contributing to the visitor’s book (we opted out of the sculpture room for today!) before finally reaching the interactive room. Today’s choice of activities were the jigsaws, coloured shapes and tiles (which became trains and tunnels) and admiring ourselves in the overhead mirrored ceiling. Lunch in Costa coffee rounds off a perfect trip with introducing social etiquette and sharing our food 🙂
