I spent Sunday at the National Memorial Arboretum and was taken aback by all of the things it has offer. The main memorial is phenomenal in size and really brings home the numbers of servicemen and women this country has lost in recent years.
The arboretum is in a fantastic setting surrounded by beautiful landscapes, has a sensory garden and a play area. I found it an ideal environment for introducing children to the idea of Remembrance Day and I’m hoping to take the kids at some point during this week. It will be awash with poppies and people in uniforms and will provide a poignant image of the grand scale of what we have to remember.
